What Does The Color Of Your Cat Mean?

What does the color of your cat mean?

Colors always have a value: they improve or worsen our mood, they infuse us with a sense of peace or nervousness and much more. Well, your cat’s color also has a meaning. You have certainly heard that black cats bring bad luck. But is it the same in all cultures? And what meaning do the other colors of the cat have?

Let’s try to make a small review of the colors of the feline coat and see what meanings they can be loaded with.

The color of your cat and its meaning

One of the most interesting aspects is that the color of the cat does not always have the same meaning everywhere.

The black Cat

It is well known that the black cat is synonymous with bad luck. Did you know that in other cultures, however, it is a talisman? Yes, exactly the opposite: there are countries where the black cat brings good luck and does not represent a bad omen at all. In Great Britain, for example, the black cat is a symbol of happiness.

The white cat

The white color has always been associated with purity and cleanliness: seeing a white cat gives us this feeling. However, the most common significance of the white color in cats is prosperity in the business world. In some countries the most important tycoons often follow the tradition of getting a white cat, in the belief that, in this way, their business will bring a lot of money. Are you thinking of going into business? If you don’t have a cat yet, you already know what color to choose.

The cat of three colors

The combination of several colors makes us think of variety, diversity and, why not, fun. It may be for this reason that tricolor cats are considered a symbol of luck all over the world; what’s more, each color helps in a certain area and, combined together, they have incredible power.

For example, cats of white, black and golden color are considered talismans; the combination of these three colors is thought to bring luck on travel, protecting against accidents.

The two-tone cat

Cats with two-colored coats are very common and, given their significance, also highly sought after. There is a widespread belief that two-colored cats attract money and favor business.

The silver or gold-toned coat, in particular, brings money and improves your finances, while the reddish tone promotes love and passion. If your couple begins to lose the fire of passion, a red cat could solve your problems (for those who believe it, of course).

Is the color of the cat related to the breed?

No, the color of the cats is not related to the breed. Cats can be born of any color, regardless of the appearance of their parents. The cat’s DNA contains 38 chromosomes. During fertilization 19 chromosomes from the mother and 19 from the father are mixed, therefore the color and characteristics of a cat can be very different from those of the parents.

We talked about the most common colors, but there are also gray cats, brindle cats and other shades. According to superstition, the color of your cat can help you in various aspects of life, from business to relationships, from good luck to protection while traveling. You have the freedom to believe it or not.

If you are skeptical of this issue, we understand you perfectly, but we cannot deny that in all of us there is a pinch of mysticism that believes in the power of colors.

In the end, however, whatever the color, all cats are wonderful animals able to give you unforgettable love and moments of joy.
