Reported For Dragging A Dog Tied To The Bumper

Reported for dragging a dog tied to the bumper

Recently I was able to enjoy the sight of various animals within their natural habitat. Exotic, wild creatures with a velvety coat; a unique beauty that delighted me with the sight, the emotions, the senses. However, the more I looked at all this, the more I wondered how there could be people who exploit and harm animals. Well, that’s it, and I am particularly ashamed to think that it also happens in Spain, in the so-called civilized West. Find out below the story of a man who tortured his dog after tying it to the bumper.

There is no excuse for what this gentleman did, not to call him any other way. Even today, in the 21st century, many do not understand that a dog is a pet, a friend, a being to love and to receive love from, it is not just a toy that is only there to satisfy our desires and whims. When I saw the images relating to this news, it occurred to me how much it would cost him to get his pet into the car.

The dog tied to the bumper of the car

This sad story happened in an Asturian town called Tineo. An inhabitant of the area was leaving the house when he noticed a poor dog crawling on the ground, dragged by something. He was taken by curiosity, so he began to record the scene.

Approaching the animal as he made the video, he soon realized the level of cruelty taking place: the dog was tied to the bumper of a car. Apparently, he looked like a hunting dog that his owner had decided to tie up on the way home. The animal certainly could not keep up with the car, therefore, despite its efforts, it was the car that dragged it, forcing it to crawl on the ground, between mud and water.

It seems that the animal was very dirty, after having fulfilled his “duty” as a hunter, so his master did not let him get on board, deciding to tie him to the bumper.

The man who recorded the incident immediately shared the video on all social networks; thanks to this gesture, the images soon reached various animal protection bodies, which immediately denounced this cruel act.

The petition of the kennels to save the dog tied to the bumper

The kennels then mobilized to report the incident, discovering that this individual also had other dogs. This cruel gesture started an investigation, aimed at verifying the state in which the other animals in the possession of this man were, so that, of course, they would be kidnapped.

It seems that this inhabitant of Tineo had already been reported in the past for animal abuse. It turned out that he kept several animals in pitifully hygienic enclosures surrounded by their droppings. He also had other dogs, tied up in the fields, left alone without food or water, in order to scare the wild boars.

This gentleman had already emerged unscathed from various complaints on several occasions: sometimes due to the lack of involvement of the administrative authorities, other times because he was willing to deliver one or two abused animals. However, the case of the dog tied to the car’s bumper was the straw that broke the camel’s back for kennels, which this time seem unwilling to give up or give in to threats.

This time the animal welfare agencies require the complete withdrawal of any living being in the possession of this individual, which they are willing to accept and care for. They also demand that this individual be put in jail, that he be banned from having any other animals in the future and that he pay penalties for all the damage caused.

They are aware that all this will not heal the emotional damage done to these poor animals, but it will represent a good lesson. We sincerely hope that what is requested by the kennels will be accepted by the judicial authorities; this man certainly does not deserve a softer treatment.

Congratulations to the local resident who recorded and shared the video online. If you see abuse, don’t think twice and report it.
